An Analysis of Status Report on Research and Development Resources in Jiangsu Province

江苏省R＆D资源状况以及产出成果居于全国前列,但江苏在R＆D投入方面的强度与其经济地位不相称,与发达国家同类指标相比差距较大;江苏R＆D活动内部结构失衡,活动资源的地区分布差异大,各行业R＆D活动投入强度及产出效益亦不均衡;企业在江苏R＆D活动中的主体地位已经显现,科研院所依然是江苏R＆D活动的中坚力量。

The article offers an analysis of some aspects of Research and Development (R&D) resources in Jiangsu Province. The issues under discussion include personnel distribution, sources of funds and expenditure, and total output and categories of output. In terms of the volume of R&D resources and the total output, Jiangsu Province stands in the forefront of all the provinces in China. However, it pales to insignificance in comparison to developed countries when we use the same indexes, such as the percentage of R&D input. In addition, there is room for improvement in the following areas: the imbalance of interior structure in R&D activities, the great disparity of area distributions of R&D resources, and the discrepancy of the input of R&D resources and the output of actual products. Most of the big companies and enterprises are still investing on R&D in Jiangsu Province. Many scientists, experts, and scholars from Chinese Academy of Science and Technology and other related institutes of higher learning are among the stalwart supporters of the field of R&D.
