With her novel Crow JIOU Dan breaks the silence that has hung over the circle of literature for quite a long time. For the purpose of selling well she adopts 'body description' to meet the socalled current fashion. The fact that JIOU Dan and her Crow are so warmly received neither embodies the values of literature, nor does it indicate that the female rights to discourse has been greatly strengthened. On the contrary, it only serves to prove the decline of literature, the decrease of the function of traditional literature and the deeprooted male hegemony in discourse in the age of network.
