This paper introduces Bloom's six ratios of revision, and his revision to some of Fleud's emphasis, pointing out Bloom's three shortcomings, namely: his attempt to attract attention with eyecatching and flamboyant terminology, his adoption of circular definition to explain the terminology, his static and diachronic way to study literary influence ; and finally it concludes that this book is not corrective as Bloom expected to.
