The combustion mechanism of two types of diesel soot containing different amounts (8?w/% and 25?w/%) of Soluble Organic Fraction (SOF) is described. The combustion, performedin air, was studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) in nonisothermal conditions with heating rates ranging from 5?℃ to 20?℃/min. The mass evolution data were studied by the OzawaFlynnWall method and the kinetic parameters were obtained from the multivariate nonlinear regression method. It is found that the evolution of both soots can be modeled by a three steps mechanism, namely: 1) SOF evaporation, 2) SOF thermal degradation and 3) combustion of the carbonaceous matrix. For both types of soot, the obtained kinetic parameters are very close, evidencing the limited influence of SOF amount on the combustion of the matrix.
