On English Contextual Synonym

本文从修辞学角度出发,试图对英语修辞格与语境同义现象,英语语境同义词的概念及其产生语境同义词的修辞手段,以及语境同义词与词汇同义词的关系等几个方面开展讨论,得出语境同义词的转化是词汇同义词得以不断丰富的重要来源的结论。

The English contextual synonym issue is examined in this study from a rhetoric perspective. There are three parts in the paper in which the author starts with an introduction to English figures of speech and contextual synonym phenomena, and then proposes the concept of English contextual synonym and rhetorical devices that bring on the occurrences of these contextual synonyms. An additional discussion of the relationship between English contextual synonym and lexical synonym is provided at the last part. The study in question is ended with the conclusion that the transformation of the contextual synonym is the continuous and abundant resource of the formation of the lexical synonym.
