Noise in the Dissemination of Educational Services in an Information Society

摘要 通过信息化社会教育传播过程特点的分析,指出教育传播过程具有信源、媒体通道、受教育者的生理心理、教育者与受教育者的关系等四方面的干扰,并提出干扰控制和利用的若干问题。 In the actual dissemination process of educational services, different factors can exert an influence and these can be referred to as the noise in the educational dissemination process. In an information society, noise can be defined with respect to the following: the quality of the information sources, the delivery of educational media, the body and mind of the educand, and the relationship between educators and educands. To control these different kinds of noise, a number of procedures can be followed: to enhance the information literacy of both educators and educands; to improve the quality of educational information provided; to develop a conducive environment for hardware and software utilization; to pay more attention to the teaching process; to optimize the combination of various media; and to utilize redundant information to offset the noise in the dissemination process. From the perspective of information theory, noise can increase the amount of information in a technical sense. Thus in the educational dissemination process, noise is sometimes deliberately added to serve a particular purpose. For example, 'hard' environmental noise and 'soft' psychological noise are integrated to develop learners' willpower and their ability to distinguish among different things. This can in turn enhance the efficiency of educational dissemination. Moreover, in educational evaluation and assessment, an appropriate dose of noise can be used to test whether learners can reach a specific benchmark.
