Science's essence was set up at the early stage of science activities, this metaphysical essence is the rational prerequisite for the development of science. Essence's setting up in science has a historical change, meanwhile, this change indicates that the exploration for this metaphysical essence encounters difficulty. But phenomenology provides the possibility for overcoming this difficulty and reinterpreting science's essence.
