An Analysis of the Cause of the Larger Male Population in Wenzhou

温州市男性人口数远远多于女性人口数,某种程度上造成成年男性婚配困难等社会问题,长期得不到纠正。造成性别比例关系某种程度失调的主要原因是出生男、女性别比严重偏高,某根本原因是重男轻女思想的作怪导致的胎儿性别人为选择行为。建议政府采取更加严厉的措施,遏止这一丑陋社会现象及其引发的社会问题。

In Wenzhou city, male population is much larger than female, which makes the adult male difficult to get married, and has already caused a social problem. The reason for this imbalance is that the male birth rate is higher than the female, which derives from the corrupt customs that people regard men as superior to women and choose the fetus sex on purpose. We therefore suggest that the government should take some severe measures to prevent those corrupt customs and solve this social problem in the end.
