With the changes and developments of the manufacturing material, manufacturing methods and manufacturing technology,manufacture industry will transform its traditional mode in 21th century.People bring forward many manufacturing mode to adapt to these changes. This paper introduces the outstanding advantages of the reconfigurable manufacturing mode.Moreover, this paper focuses on the bas ic design theory in reconfigurable manufacturing system(RMS)and reconfigurable m anufacturing tools(RMT).
