释“櫜”

The Textual Research of Gao(橐)

本文讨论殷周金文里的“”字。过去或隶释为“”“”,或释读为“韔”。本文通过形体、文字符号系统、语境、训诂、字词关系等多方面、多角度分析,认为该字应该释为“”字。本文提出,在古文字的考释中,当一个意义(词)不止一个字与之对应时,要综合考虑被释字本身的形、音、义和被释字之外的文字系统、词义系统、语境等多种因素。

The paper discusses the character Gao(囊) in the inscription on ancient bronze objects of the Yin Zhou(殷周) period. In the past it was regarded either as, or as ''. By analyzing the form and structure, character symbol system, context, exegesis and relationship between characters and words from different sides and angles, this paper concludes that it must be Gao(橐). So during the textual research of the ancient characters, when a meaning (word) can be explained by several characters, we should not only consider the form, pronunciation, and meaning of the character, but also consider other factors such as character system, meaning system and context out of the charater.
