Collation of Vulgar Words and Idioms & Novels in the Vernacular in Ming and Qing Dynasties

明清白话小说多俗字俗语。由于不明俗字俗语,在白话小说整理过程中,常常出现失校、误校、擅改的情况。本文择取十二例进行讨论,辨其正误,明其所以。

Many vulgar words and idioms are used in novels in the vernacular in Ming and Qing dynasties. In collating the novels in the vernacular, errors often occurred in the wrong use of words, missing of words and wrong choice of words. By using 12 examples, this paper discusses and solves some of the problems existing in collation of such novels.
