摘要
从十九世纪晚期开始,语法翻译法大受挞伐,不断受到非难与否定。本文拟从语法翻译法的形成原因和存在背景入手,对这种古老的教学方法重新进行讨论,说明它的优势和局限,解释该方法至今存在的价值,并对可能的发展趋势进行探讨。
From the late 19th century, the Grammar-Translation Method has been condemned and criticized repeatedly. The present article is to analyze its advantages and disadvantages by tracking back its background on which it based. This method is available to help learners promote their language competences and it is useful for learners to gain self-teaching abilities. It is not too demanding of the teachers, so it is easy to operate. But.the method pays too much attention to written work and too less to oral practice. The lower learning efficiency is also its shortcoming. In addition, its value for present existence and possible trends are discussed in this article.
