On Natural,Life's and Intellective Limits of Technology and their Ethical Implications

现代技术确实对人类进步产生了巨大影响。乐观主义据此向人们表明,人类通过技术可以解决一切问题,完成所有任务。但通过对当前自然生态、生命和知识的状况考察,我们认为技术并不像技术乐观主义者想象的那样可以无限地向前发展,技术发展存在诸多负面效应,受到自然、生命和知识状况的诸多限制。只有在个人、企业、政府乃至全球范围建立起某些责任、规约、法律秩序来约束技术过程,把技术发展的负面影响降低到最低程度,才能有效地发挥技术的正面作用。

Modern technology exerts tremendous effects on human progress. Some extreme optimists show that human beings may solve all issues and accomplish all affairs through technology. However,by investigating the present status of nature,life and intellectuality,we argue that technology cannot develop as infinitely as imagined by optimists.With its negative effects,it will fall under natural,life's and intellectual limits. So only when some responsibility,regulations and law orders are established to reduce the technological negations to the minimal degree within the global scale of individuals,enterprises and governments,can technology bring its positive role into play.
