Education as the basic social development——Role of education in the modernized social macro system

长期以来 ,人们总是把教育等同于正规学校教育。面对急剧变化的世界对教育提出的要求 ,应该对教育在社会系统中的地位重新进行认识。人类社会的发展 ,对教育提出了新要求 ,教育成为社会发展的基础。

For long in the past, education means only formal schooling. However, in the global context of the new challenges, what was true of the education in the social system should be reexamined. Hence, the paper reviews the educational history in the first place, and then it highlights the great changes in education of the second half of the 20th century. On basis of all this, the paper concludes that the education has become the basis of the social development.
