摘要 随着视频服务进入日常生活,数据库系统面临着海量视频数据存储问题.传统的数据库存储系统采用2层结构存储体系不能突破存储容量的限制,单纯依靠增加2级存储容量将增加系统存储代价.因而将3级存储器引入数据库势在必行.目前针对3级存储器视频数据研究还没有开展.针对如何有效地分配数据库3层结构下存储资源,提出满足媒体流连续播放条件的视频数据分布方案.该视频数据分布方案分为2个步骤:利用各层存储资源分配视频对象,然后针对第3层磁带库磁带机访问情况分配视频数据.这种方案使得磁带机工作负载达到平衡状态,从而降低存储系统存储成本,提高了工作效率. Multimedia application and storage technology development have presented many problems to modern database system. How to place the video data efficiently in the tertiary storage library is a critical issue because the video data are different from the traditional textual data. The video data placement based on hierarchical storage system with tape library as tertiary storage is discussed. It takes two steps to place the video data in the three-level hierarchical architecture. The first step is to layout the data to the proper level and position them according to their visiting frequencies and sizes. The second step is to address the tertiary storage workload balance that has been neglected now. This placement aims at the improvement of capacity utilization and minimizing the storage cost. With this placement policy, we can get a cost-effective hierarchical storage system with a workload balance tape library.
