摘要 本文对光通信技术的若干热点领域的发展趋势做了简要评述和展望。主要结论是SDH将向下一代融合的多业务平台转型;40Gbit/s系统的发展将继续推迟并可能首先在短距离互联上获得应用;波分复用除了继续向超长距离和超大容量发展外,粗波分系统将在城域网获得应用;点到点光通信将向光联网方向演进;光以太网将成为城域多业务网的可选技术,但还需要解决一系列问题;无源光接入网技术有突破,但大规模应用还需要解决成本和配套问题;为满足光通信技术的发展需要,下一代光纤的应用时机已经成熟。 This paper presents a brief summary and prospects on some hot fields of optical fiber communication technologies.Major conclu-sions are the followings.The role of SDH will convert to a convergent multi-service platform.Deployment of40Gbit/s system will continuous-ly delay and most likely initial application is short distance interconnection.WDM will continuously advance in both directions on ultra-long distance and ultra-large capacity and CWDM will gain applications on MAN.A traditional point to point transmission will evolve to optical networking.Optical ethernet will become an option for metropolitan multi-service networks,but a series of problems have to be settled.A passive broadband optical access network has experienced technology break through,but mass deployment will not likely happen until cost and other issues have to be solved.The time for deployment of next generation fibers has already matured in order to meet development re-quirements of optical fiber communication technologies.
