摘要
Wolbachia是Hertige和Wolbach于1924年发现的一类以节肢动物、线虫等为宿主的细胞质共生微生物,具杆状和球状两种形态,通过雌虫传递给子代.Wolbachia并不直接关联宿主的营养,而是对宿主进行"生殖操作".介绍了关于Wolbachia引起宿主胞质不亲和、诱导孤雌生殖、引起雌性化及杀雄现象的研究进展.
Many arthropods harbor intracellular bacteria of the genus Wolbachia. These maternityinherited symbionts cause various alterations in the reproduction of their hosts. The most common alteration is cytoplasmic incompatibility (CI). In diploids, CI results in a high rate of embryo mortality when the sperm of infected males fertilizes oocytes that are uninfected, or infected by another bacterial variant. Wolbachia bacteria also induce the lytokous parthenogenesis in a number of parasitoid wasps, convert genotypic males into phenotypic females in some terrestrial isopods and insects, and cause malekilling in some insects. This paper reviews all the research mentioned above.
