On the Basic Spirit of Confucian Music Education and Its Modern Enlightenment —— Concurrently on Confucius’ Music Practice

儒家深刻地阐释了音乐的起源,认为音乐是人们有感于内心情感的表达,它发挥着重要的社会功能,即修养身心、移风易俗。儒家揭示了音乐与政治之间的关系,因而非常重视音乐的教化作用。作为儒家的创始人,乐教在孔子教育中占有重要地位,而孔子本人更是一位杰出的音乐家,音乐活动贯穿其终身教育事业。以孔子为代表的儒家乐教思想对于当前的音乐教育和音乐创作依然具有非常重要的启示意义。

Confucianism has further expounded the origin of music.It holds the idea that music is an expression to the inner emotion.It plays a very important part in social function,namely,the culture of body and soul and transforming the old social traditions.Confucian has revealed the relationship between music and politics,and has attached great importance to the music enlightenment.As the founder of Confucianism,Confucius put the music education in an important position.Also,he was an outstanding musician whose musical activities ran through the whole educational cause.The music educational thoughts of Confucianism represented by Confucius is still of great significance for the current music education and music creation.
