A Rational Reflection on the Urbanization Road with Chinese Characteristics

从十六大报告关于三农问题论述的逻辑体系看 ,加快城镇化进程是结合繁荣农村经济的内在要求提出来的。也就是说 ,现阶段我国城镇化的主要目的是解决农村人口向城镇转移 ,以逐步优化城乡人口布局 ,为建设现代农业、发展农村经济。

Viewed from the logic of the exposition of the Party's Sixteenth Congress report on the problems of agriculture, rural area and peasants, the idea to speed up the urbanization process is put forward to meet the inherent needs of promoting rural economic prosperity. In other words, the chief purpose of China's urbanization at present stage is to solve the problem of the rural population's transfer to the urban areas; to gradually optimize the distribution of rural and urban population; and to prepare essential conditions for the construction of modern agriculture, the development of rural economy and the increase of peasants' income.
