摘要
介绍了彩色PDP的显示原理,并分析了表面放电式彩色PDP的驱动方法及其产生彩色灰度的原理和由此带来的伪轮廓负面效应,采取了优化子场分配的减小伪轮廓效应的措施;提出了减小背景亮度的驱动方法提高显示对比度;自行研制了彩色PDP的驱动、控制电路系统,在国家平板显示工程技术研究中心研制的WVGA(852×480)分辨率的107cm(42in)彩色AC PDP显示板上进行了调试,实现了动态彩色图像显示,图像显示亮度和对比度高、颜色鲜艳、自然逼真,扫描驱动IC的工作电压比常规驱动方法有明显降低,能量恢复效果明显,电路工作稳定。实验结果表明,该电路具有实用价值和广泛的应用前景。
The operation principle,driving method,color levels and the method of reducing the false contour of surface discharge color PDP is presented. The method of improving the contrast is also analyzed in details. Based upon the theoretical discussion, the driving and controlling circuits have been deve loped. The circuits work perfectly with the 107cm(42in) diagonal 852×480 resolution color PDP developed by China National Flat Panel Display Research Center. The moving pictures displayed are bright, clear with high contrast. The energy recovery circuits have obvious effects on energy saving, and the driving voltage of scanning IC in the developed module is reduced compared with that of normal driving methods. Experiment results show that the driving circuits could be adopted for the commercial applications.
