网格计算是对分布在各地的网络资源,包括计算资源、存储资源、通信资源、软件资源、信息资源、知识资源、专家资源等,进行协调、透明和安全的共享,是继传统互联网、万维网之后的第三代互联网应用。其目的就是将计算能力和信息资源像电力一样方便地送到每一个用户,消除信息孤岛和资源孤岛。介绍了网格计算的好处、体系结构、发展现状及主要应用,认为网格计算对电信运营商而言。
Grid computing, as one of the third generation of Internet applications, provides coordinated, transparent and secure sharing of geographically distributed network resources. It is aimed to eliminate isolated information and resources islands by delivering computing capacity and information resources to every customer in a convenient way just like delivering electric power.
