Contemporary realism has become Chi Li's newly established style in her fiction creation.And apparently a close study of her prerealistic works helps analyze her current realistic novels more accurately and profoundly.This paper conceives that her early motives were to probe into a spiritual homestead with a focus on reality in a poetic sense and cultural contemplation,insisting on human as subject matter.Therefore, these prerealistic writings shed overwhelming meanings in her subsequent literary creation.
