A New Interpretation of the Location of the "Shan State

对于我国史书中所载古掸国的地望问题,迄今尚无定论。本文从掸国所走的永昌道、日南道路线入手,结合中外史料,经过初步研究,认为掸国是印度次大陆上天竺国中的一个中、小国家。

History books have controversial views about the location of the ancient Shan State. Through a study of the available historical documents and an analysis of the Yongchang Road and the Rinan Road which the envoys of the Shan State took, the author has reached the following conclusion that the Shan State was a small or medium-size state in the Tianzhu Kingdom on the Indian Subcontinent.
