The Westernizationers started the modem fashion of studying abroad for military purposes. This unrefined education sowed seeds of modernism in China which strengthened the cultural communication between China and other countries and acted as one of the key promoting elements in the social changes of the late Qing Dynasty. Lengthwise, studying abroad in Westernization Movement broke through Chinese traditional education. Crosswise, this education accorded with the world development trend and improved human cultural development and is an indispensable part of the modern national education system.
