Although the digital enhanced cordless telephone (DECT) system can be interfaced into the internet directly, the interconnection of DECT to internet is inadequate to support wide-area roam because the internet is based on the internet protocol (IP), which does not facilitate host mobility between different subnetworks. To support subnet-level roam, mobile IP is employed. This paper Provides a design project of mobile-based DECT and discusses the interworking of DECT with Mobile IP.
