Plasma visible spectrum experiments on the HL1 and HL1M tokamaks are summarized.The main results include the plasma parameters measurement,impurity decreasing,plasma fueling,confinement improving,plasma rotation and radiation character of plasma edge in different conditions of discharge.The research prospect for the visible spectrum in the HL2A tokamak device is presented.
