章学诚是清代乾嘉时期的著名学者,世人对他的价值定位大致经历了隐晦、潜流到昌明三个阶段,这种戏剧性的变化表层原因取决于著作流传与年谱撰写;深层原因则取决于时代背景、学术性质、言说方式及成就。

ZhangXuecheng is a famous Chinese scholar of the Qianlong-Jiaqing period of the Qing dynasty. People' s judgment of his value varies in about three periods: period of obscurity, period of subdued recognition and period of celebrity. The superficial cause of such dramatic change depends on the spread of his works and the compilation of a chronicle while the profound cause depends on the time background, the nature of learning, the style of writing and achievement.
