目前,我国民办高校的办学方式尚处于"粗放型"阶段,主要表现在盲目追求学校数量的高速增长和扩大办学规模上。民办高校的这种现状,难以适应未来高等教育发展的要求,必须实现办学方式的根本性转变。转变的目标就是,民办高校向"集约型"发展,即在保持学校一定规模和发展速度的前提下,通过完善民办高校管理制度,提高民办高校办学质量和效益,来实现民办高校的可持续发展。
