本文从人类知识的不确定性出发,以自然科学的大量事例,论述了理论在民族学研究中的正当性,提出民族学学科的研究,并不止于看和事实的记录,同时应包含对理论预设问题的追问。民族学学科研究发展的根本动力,就在于对已有理论预设的追问和新的理论的建构。

With the uncertainty of human knowledge as the point of departure and many cases of natural sciences as the foundation, the author discusses the justification of the theory in ethnological studies in which observation and the record of facts are both important. The author also inquires the theoretical presuppositions and concludes that the basic driving force of ethnological studies as a discipline is based on that inquiry and the construction of new theories.
