An Investigation of the Sources of Yin-Yang Theory

阴阳学说在中国哲学史上占有重要的地位。从思想史的角度看,阴阳哲学思想诸元素早已产生并蕴涵在"天象观测"和"生育崇拜"等人类早期的社会实践和理论体系中。在天象观测中,实际上蕴涵了后来阴阳哲学中的两个主要规律:"循环变化"与"往复消长";而在生育崇拜中,则蕴涵着"阴阳二元"形式的直接来源———男女二元。作为先秦天人关系转变之表征的"巫史传统",其存在为阴阳哲学的最终形成提供了现实的可能性。

Yin-Yang is a very important theory in the history of Chinese philosophy. The elements of yin-yang theory emerged very early and were implied in astronomy observation and phallicism in ancient China.We will see that the two elements of 'yin'and 'yang' obviously derive from man and women. As the symbol of the transition from heaven to humans in the Qing Dynasty the 'Wu-shi'tradition provided a practical way to form the yin-yang theory.
