摘要
章炳鳞(太炎)、黄侃(季刚)是20世纪初期“国故派”的代表人物,他们在“西化”浪潮冲击中国民族文化走向极端,传统文化几被全盘否定的历史时期,坚持对民族文化的继承,提倡建设中国本体文化,并为此整理典籍、施行国学教育,为新世纪培养了一批学有所成的继承型人才。今天,站在历史的高度来评价他们的文化建设思想和提倡国故之所为,可以感受到他们在国学研究和教育中高度的历史使命意识、敢于反潮流的独立思想和难能可贵的严谨学风,这对我们今天先进文化的建设,是有深刻的借鉴作用的。
Zhang Binglin(Taiyan) and Huang Kan(Jigang) are the representative figures of the ' School of Ancient Learning' of early 20th century. In a historical period when the waves of 'Westernization' are lashing a-gainst China's national culture in the extreme and almost entirely negate it, they insist that national culture be carried on, and a Chinese culture based on its own root be established. They sort out classics, conduct education of ancient Chinese civilization, and have brought up for the upcoming century a galaxy of talents who are able to carry on the tradition. Today, standing at a historical height to evaluate their thoughts for cultural construction and what they have done to advocate the study of the quintessence of traditional Chinese culture, we can see their strong sense of historical mission, their countertrending and independent thinking, and commendable rigorous scholarship, all of which may well be drawn on as significant experiences for our present - day construction of an advanced culture.
