徐复教授是章黄学派的传人,我国当代著名的古典文献学家、训诂学家,也是杰出的教育家。他在近7O年的教学生涯中,形成了具有鲜明特色的教育思想,即:在教育目标上,提倡求真务实,培养创新人才;在教育策略上,注重根柢之学,强调打好基础;在教学方法上,联系学生实际,因材施行教育;在师生关系上,注重情感教育,潜移默化育人;在师德修养上,以高尚人格垂范后学。研究他的教育思想和实践,对弘扬中华传统文化有重要意义。

Prof. Xu Fu is a renowned successor to the Zhang - Huang School, a linguist, an exegete, and an outstanding educator in modern China. He has, in his teaching career of nearly 70 years, developed his thought on e-ducation with striking characteristics: His goal of education lies in advocating the pursuit of truth and down - to earth-ness; his educational tactics stresses the importance of basis, emphasizing a solid foundation; he uses such teaching methods as are best adapted to the concrete case of each individual; he pays great attention to the teacher - student relationship, always trying to nurture the affection for each other; and in the way of a teacher's virtue and cultivation, he sets a fine example for the rising generations with his own noble and sublime personalily. A study of Xu' s thought on and practice of education is of great significance to the propagation and development of traditional Chinese culture.
