Value of Mozi's Religious Ideas

墨子提出的“兼相爱、交相利、非攻、节用”等思想 ,构成了墨家学说的核心。墨子认为“天”是现实社会的最高统治者 ,人必须顺天意才能得天之赏 ,才能达到兴天下之利 ,除天下之害的目的。墨子的宗教思想虽然具有很强的现实功利性 ,也并非墨家学说的主体 ,但却是为其主体学说服务的。探讨其宗教思想价值 ,是研究墨子学说不可回避的问题。

The core of Mohist teaching includes such ideas as “utual love and benefit, non-violence and thrift”was put forward by Mozi. According to Mohist teaching, “Heaven”is the ruler of this world; people should follow the idea of the heaven and will be bestowed to, so as to accelerate the good and diminish the harm. Though Mozi's religious ideas are a bit utilitarian and not the main body of Mohist teaching, they serve the main teaching of Mohist. Value research of his religious ideas is an important topic of Mozi's theory.
