To Fulfill a Hui Scholar's Duty"——The Lifelong Pursuit of the Famous Hui Historian prof. Yang Zhijiu

南开大学历史学院博士生导师杨志玖教授(1915—2002),回族,是我国著名的历史学家,在史学诸多领域颇有建树,特别是对元代回族史和《马可波罗游记》的研究倾注了更多的心血,成果卓著,为中外史学界所称道。他为人正直坚毅,一生求知好学,诲人不倦,奖掖后进;对母族赤诚敬重,鼎力支持回族期刊,推动回族史学科建设,尽到了一个回族学人的天职。

Prof. Yang Zhijiu (1915-2002),a famous doctors' tutor of the History Department of Nan Kai University. He had made a lot of contributions in many historical academic fields and great effort on the study of the history of Yuan Dynasty Hui Nationality and Mark Polo's Travel Notes. His achievements are well known in the historical academic circle both in China and abroad. He often taught others and encourage them to make progress;He was loyal and respectful to his own nationality,gave great support to the Hui periodicals,push forward the construction of the subject of historical study and fulfilled a Hui scholar's duty.
