摘要 上海外语教育出版社正在陆续推出普通高等教育“十五”国家级规划教材《新世纪高职高专英语》(修订版)。本文介绍该套教材的修订过程、体例说明,并对教材的指导思想和理论基础进行了探讨。作者认为高职高专英语教材应全面贯彻《高职高专教育英语课程基本要求》,突出高职高专英语教育特色,为生产、服务和管理第一线培养具有一定英语听说读写译能力、能进行简单涉外交际的应用性人才。 Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press is publishing in succession the New Century English for Professional Students (Revised Edition). This paper introduces the compilation, framework, guiding principles and theoretical bases of the coursebook series. The author maintains that in the compilation of the coursebooks the Requirements for the English Course in the Vocational and Technological Colleges and Academies Education should be fulfilled in full scale and stress should be laid on the special characteristics of the English teaching and learning in vocational and technological schools in order to train, for the forefront of production, service and management, personnel with practical abilities in English listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation and to enable them to communicate in fluent English.
