Complied by Fanghui in the Yuan Dynasty, the book 'Th e Quintessence of Regulated Verses' is a selected regulated verses of the Tang and Song Dynasties, in which the rhetorical concepts are expressed by the anthologi st′s commentary and annotate. The book deals with the rhetoric of diction,synta x,seetions and chapters,writing styles and the research methodology of the verse s.Inheriting the thoughts of predecessors,he also brought forward his new ideas in the selections,which should have its certain position in the history of rheto ric in China.
