On Zong Baihua's Interpretation of Wei-Jin Aesthetics

宗白华在"五四"时期对魏晋美学的解读,体现出他力图通过对中国传统美学的体验与研究,重构中华美学精神的识见。宗白华在解读魏晋美学时,着重揭示魏晋人物与美学中的个性特点与情感风采,从而超越了从一般意义上来对待传统的研究,为我们今天重提中国古代文论的现代转化提供了范例。

During the period of May 4thMovement, Zong Baihuas interpretation of WeiJin aesthetics embodied his intention to restructure the spirit of Chinas aesthetics by experiencing and studying Chinese traditional aesthetics. In the interpretation of WeiJin aesthetics, Zong Baihua emphasized the individual characteristics and emotional charm of the figures and aesthetics of WeiJin, which surpassed the general study on tradition, thus, provided us with a paradigm on reexamining the contemporary transform of Chinas ancient literary criticism.
