茨威格的一生有33年时光是在第一次世界大战之前度过的,他的理想和信念的形成,辉煌的文学成就的取得,都与那个太平时代密不可分。世界大战剧烈的“地震”把他抛到一种与过去生活迥然不同的生活中去了,他的著作从自己的语言环境中消失了,一生热烈追求的理想和信念化为泡影,作为犹太人又被迫重温犹太民族两千年的苦难史,他彻底绝望了!于是,“及时地不失尊严地”结束了他宝贵的生命。

Stefan Zweig spent his thirty - three years before WWI.His ideal,belief and his glorious literature achievement cannot be separated from that peaceful time.The 'earthquake' of WWI brought him to a completely different life. While his works disappeared from his own language circumstance, his ideal and belief that he pursued all his life vanished. As a Jewish, he was forced to return to the 2000 years harsh historj' of Jewish nationality. He disappeared completely , so he ended up his life on time and without disgrace.
