Shishi duanping and Xianhua: two special columns of Modern Criticism

“时事短评”和“闲话”是 192 0年代北京颇有影响的同人刊物《现代评论》的两个重要栏目 ,它们保证了杂志的办刊宗旨在技术层面上得以顺利实现 ,对中国现代期刊的发展也有重要的借鉴意义。此外 ,通过主题栏目的设置和文体风格的形成 ,以《现代评论》为中心的文人团体建构了阐释自我的舆论氛围 ,并借此影响和干预公众社会。

As two important columns of Modern Criticism (Xiandai Pinglun), one of the famous collegial journals of Beijing in 1920s, Shishi duanping and Xianhua ,helped to attain all the purposes by technical standards. This dissertation also investigates the literary group that formed around this journal, and the way in which these intellectuals articulated their thoughts, as well as intervened with society.
