Jameson: The Bridge Between Marxism and Post modernism

詹姆森是在美国和中国都很有影响的理论家,他试图寻找一条沟通马克思主义与后现代主义道路,并对"现代———后现代"问题提供他自己的独特理解。虽然詹姆森的理论位置处于马克思主义与后现代主义之间,但是,他的理论实质不是通过后现代主义使马克思主义获得某种现代性,而是通过马克思主义对后现代主义提供一种与众不同的解释。

As an influential theorist both in the United States and China, Jameson has tried his best to reconcile Marxism with postmodernism and put forward his own explanation of the 'modernity versus postmodernity'. Jameson′s theoretical position is one between Marxism and postmodernism, but his purpose is not to endow Marxism with some kind of modernity by means of postmodernism. He seeks to provide in a unique way an explanation of postmodernism in terms of Marxism.
