江泽民伦理思想的基本内容包括弘扬爱国主义、集体主义、社会主义的时代主旋律,构建与社会主义市场经济相适应的社会主义道德体系,面向世界和未来,推动伦理道德观念的现代化等方面,其贡献表现在既继承了邓小平伦理思想又发展了邓小平伦理思想,深化了对中国特色社会主义伦理道德体系的认识,针对社会主义市场经济和国际经济政治格局的新变化,创造性地提出了一系列新的伦理道德命题和观点,阐述了如何在社会主义市场经济条件和经济全球化的形势下建设社会主义道德,提高全国人民的思想道德素质,在整个社会形成一种团结合作、平等互助的新型人际关系和社会道德风尚的问题。
