摘要
在乡村和都市间的艰难选择中,林语堂一面感受都市的丰富与魅力,一面倾心于自然山野的本色纯真。在他看来,"田园"和"都市"不仅不是不可调和的矛盾体,而是可以融合起来,更好地适宜人类的健康发展。林语堂的"田园式"都市具有美好的田园景象、博大的胸怀、真实的人生和丰厚的文化底蕴等特征。当然,在林语堂的都市文化中,最为重要的部分还是"田园"风味,它在文化的映衬下更为熠熠生辉。
Confronted with the difficult choice between countryside and municipality,Lin Yutang experienced joyfully the colourful charming life of the municipality on the one hand,and yearned for the simple natural life on the other.To him,pastoral life and municipal life did not contradict one another,instead,they could combine with each other,and this combination could better suit human life.Lin Yutang's pastoral municipality was characterized by beautiful pastoral scene,broad bosson,ture life and rich culture.However,the essence of Lin's municipal culture was the pastoral flavour,which became all the more splendid against the cultural background.
