Problems in the Development of Western Energy Resources

西部矿、能资源的开发和利用对加快现代化建设至关重要,但目前尚存在不少问题。突出表现在体制、价格、利用率、环境等几个方面。为了抓住西部大开发给西部地区经济发展带来的机遇,必须对西部矿、能资源开发利用的政策加以调适,并加大环境保护的力度,以确保可持续发展战略的全面实施。

The development and utilization of the western energy resources is of vital importance to speeding up of China's modernization. However, there are still a lot of problems in this respect, especially in the relevant system, prices, ratio of utilization and the environment. To take advantage of the opportunity brought about by the Western Development, we have to adjust the policies concerning the development and utilization of energy resources, and strengthen measures on environmental protection so as to better implement the sustainable development strategy. 
