The author regards the press clipping as a fast,active and rich in information product,and discusses its special values,functions and significances,the similarities and differences in service forms between public libraries and college libraries.He also points out the major problem which hinders the development of the press clipping,and puts forward several preconditions of the sustainable development of press clipping under the Internet environment.
