Shen Congwen is a great writer, as well as a critic in modern Chinese literature. The fact determines the characteristics of his critical method——impression restatement, which consists of intuition, integration, description andcomparison. These all bear the token of the author's speciality. Due to this critical speciality, Shen not only left a critical text which is different from major criticism in modern Chinese literature, but also provided a model of author criticism for criticism, which are of great research value of critical type.
