An Analysis of the Modernization of the Wanxian City

文章论述了万县从城市的形成到逐步开启并完成近代化的过程,这一过程虽是不平等条约的产物,是被迫的,但在客观上却促进了万县城市的发展。在加快建设现代文明的今天,为了促进万州城市的进一步发展,我们必须解放思想,坚持改革开放,积极发展外向型经济。

This paper discusses Wanxian City’s formation and development to modernization. Though the process was compelled by equal treaties, the development of the Wanxian city was in actuality promoted. Nowadays, to speed up the construction of modern civilization, we need to emancipate our minds, stick to the reform and opening-up policy, and develop the export-oriented economy.
