Shanghai Hongqiao CBD is a strategic project in the agenda of both Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region during the’Twelfth FiveYear Plan'period.It serves as an example for other projects in terms of planning,construction and administration.As an important component of the project,underground space is playing a vital role in the development of Shanghai Hongqiao CBD.Reviewing and re-thinking the process of underground space planning and architectural design will provide other cities with valuable reference regarding urban underground space(UUS)use and development.
