Fashion, Gender and Sexuality: On Fashion and Cultural Studies by Susan B Kaiser

美国著名服装心理学家苏珊·B·凯瑟在《时尚与文化研究》一书中引用"风格—时尚—装扮循环"这一理论,分析了文化在服装生产、销售、消费、时尚主体构成等各个环节之间的流动,同样也将这一循环运用到时尚与性别和性取向问题的研究中来,认为风格—时尚—装扮对于性别主体的身分建构和主体定位具有重要意义,并有助于调和疏导异性恋异装行为和同性恋恐惧症带来的文化焦虑。

Mr. Susan Kaiser, the American famous clothing social psychologist, makes use of the the-ory of “circuit of style-fashion-dress” to analyze the lfow of culture in the circuit which is com-posed of clothing production, distribution, consume and the fashion subject in her newly published book entitled Fashion and Cultural Studies. She also applies this theory to the examination of the relationship between fashion, gender and sexuality and thinks that style-fashion-dress is not only of great signiifcance to the construction of gender identity and subject position, but also helps to adjust and navigate the cultural anxiety resulted from cross-dress and homopho-bia.
