Discussion on chronic musculoskeletal diseases from the differentiation and treatment of arthromyodynia

Professor Shi Qi considers that chronic musculoskeletal diseases belong to the category of'arthromyodynia'and are syndrome of asthenia in origin and pathogenic factors in superficiality. Disorder of nutrient qi and defensive qi and deficiency of qi and blood are the inner factors of the diseases,while invasion of outer pathogen is the external factor. The root cause of this disease is the deficiency of liver,spleen,and kidney. The treatment principle of chronic musculoskeletal diseases is strengthening body resistance and eliminating pathogenic factors.
