Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is the most costly and devastating complication of diabetes mellitus. Here, we report two cases of the therapeutic effect of a topical Chinese herbal medicine, Tang-Ji-Kang (TJK), on treatment-resistant DFU. Changes in the level of pain, ulcer area and secretions were observed. After a short period of TJK treatment, both DFU were healed. These and other clinical cases shows that TJK is a simple, effective low cost painless anti-bacterial infection dressing for DFU whose topical application needs no pre-disinfection or debridement and it leaves no scars after DFU is healed.
